It is our sad duty to announce the death of Dr. Conrad A. Riederer. Dr Conrad A. Riederer died on September 22, 2008.

We will always remember him as a brilliant collegue a real friend and a shining example.

Obituary:

After having completed his basic technical studies Dr. C. A. Riederer joined Landis & Gyr in Zug, Switzerland, where he worked for two years as a mechanical designer. His employment as an engineer for IBM brought him to Canada and the USA. At Bell Telephone Laboratories he contributed to the development of automatically controlled bonding equipment. At that time he took courses in U.S. Patent Law at Columbia University. After his return to Switzerland he joined a well-known law office in Zürich. Working for the law office he started his studies in common law at University of Zürich. Having completed his legal studies he joined the swiss subsidiary of a U.S. company in Luzern to establish their european branch of the patent department. In 1967 he decided to change into private business and he moved to Bad Ragaz to found his own patent law office. Dr. Riederer was Swiss Patent Attorney VSP and a registered European Patent Attorney.
